Blizzard 2010

info: Polaroid 195 with Fuji 100iso
SX-70 with Sliver shade film ( from inside my apartment )

I have been through many blizzards since I moved to NYC but this was actually my first time to go out and shoot these photos. It was pretty painful because snow is everywhere and the cold plus this year we got an incredible wind. No pain, No gain; it's exactly what it means. I thought I got good layers of clothes to go outside but I didn't put on a pair of gloves. My hands turned from red to purple because of the 100 type film. It was difficult to pull it out from the camera, wait for the process and peel it. The first 2-3 shots was fine to me but after I saw the shot and light. I chased it like a wild animal who just came out from habitation. I was waiting for the right time of dust of snow and a good light. It was a short 5-8 minutes of shooting, pulling, tucking, shooting, pulling, tucking........ This film needs a specific time and temp control to process the picture therefore I need to shoot, pulling the film out and tuck it in my coat to keep it at a certain temp. After i finished the process, it's time for me to wait for the films to process under my coat ( the second photo ) during this minutes I suddenly saw another location and couldn't wait to get there and shoot which it is the first photo on this post.

PK.
